| 1 | EGU General Assembly 2024 | 2024-04-18 | | 1) The primary objective of this research is to present and evaluate evacuation risk management plans, based on extensive field investigations, that were proposed within the context of fire risk assessment in selected municipalities of the Region of Attica, as well as, to highlight the most vulnerable areas in terms of capacity through maps. 2) An emergency and recovery plan for an earthquake risk scenario is proposed, that will be implemented in the broader area around the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia. Satellite and geospatial data are processed to extract all necessary thematic information. 3) The purpose of this research is to propose a service that leverages historical geospatial data or spatially referenced data, based on the literature of domino/triggering effect, in order to promote and assist preparedness actions for disaster chains in the context of education. | 1) Poster presentation of the research: Tsoutsos, M.-C., Stasinos, N., Zoka, M., Kokkalidou, M., Girtsou, S., Stathopoulos, N., and Kontoes, C.: Comparative assessment of evacuation capacity of selected fire prone areas in Attica region, Greece, EGU General Assembly 2024, Vienna, Austria, 14–19 Apr 2024, EGU24-17187. 2) Poster presentation of the research: Alatza, S., Stasinos, N., Stathopoulos, N., Papakonstantinou, M., Tsoutsos, M.-C., and Kontoes, C.: Geospatial and remote sensing analysis for earthquake risk management: The case study of Ancient Olympia archaeological site. , EGU General Assembly 2024, Vienna, Austria, 14–19 Apr 2024, EGU24-18643. 3) Oral presentation of the research: Tsoutsos, M.-C. and Vescoukis, V.: Cascade effects of Greece using historical data of natural hazards: An operational tool in education, EGU General Assembly 2024, Vienna, Austria, 14–19 Apr 2024, EGU24-20521. | According to the EGU 2024 website (https://www.egu24.eu/): The EGU24 General Assembly welcomed 20,979 registered attendees, of which 18,388 made their way to Vienna from 116 countries and 2,591 joined online from 109 countries.
